Another good forecast so I tried to hold back on the booze last night. Checked out Hove first but at 11am only 2 hours post-HT it was shoredump central. So on to Worthing. It wasn't all that windy when I arrived and only two windsurfers were out and not planing (albeit on small-ish kit). However some nice waves were rolling in and a bit of a breeze seemed to be filling in so I took a chance and rigged the 5.8.

10 minutes later onto the water and planed straight off the beach! Ah that smug feeling as you launch into the straps and zip past the blobbers... I was well powered for the first couple of runs and got some nice jumps and attempted rides, but unfortunately that was about as good as it got. The wind gradually became very up and down and by the end I was losing ground downwind so after about 90 mins I called it quits.

So not a great session but still good to start off the year with a planing session in warm WTW sunshine.
